5.0 out of 5 stars – An Impressive Legacy of Life, Love and Horses

Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2025

Tim Hayes' book is an impressive legacy of life, love, horses and relationships— both intrapersonal and interpersonal. This publication simplifies the complicated relationships between humans and horses into a digestible novel that will be enjoyed by both horse enthusiasts and those who haven’t tapped into equine partnerships (yet). Hayes brings the reader to a gentle confrontation with their own ego through reflective stories from his own life and learnings. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking' for a little cowboy wisdom.

“A central point in Horses, Humans, and Love is understanding the herd mentality of the animal. Once a hierarchy is established, the horses care about and protect each other. The author’s hope is ‘If we can learn from horses…. maybe we can learn how to love ourselves, each other, and the herd of eight billion we call humanity.’ Pertinent lessons from the barn for our fractious times.”

“Superbly succinct in his writing style makes this title a very happy read for those that like a book that moves along quickly while conveying information in a ‘to the point’ manner - making it easy to understand. Relationship advice that is instructive and easy to learn from right away, which is encouraging to read and implement.

Hayes is a very good author of that there is no doubt, and his storytelling talents in regard to his passion for horses are a pleasure to sit back and enjoy. It’s good to see folks like Robert Redford and Pulitzer prize-winning author Carl Bernstein sing his praises. This book offer a very constructive approach to the topic of what horses can and do teach us, and how to be mindful of our interactions with each other and with horses. Hayes offers guidance to better living with a gentle hand.

Love this book. Self-help – life-help – coaching spirit – sage advice. Herd dynamics
apply to us all. Buy it!”
